Community at a glance

Muscoda, which means "Prairie of Flowers," is a growing community of 1,400 nestled among the rolling hills along the flowing Wisconsin River. Located in the heart of the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway, Muscoda is a nature lover's dream. With access to thousands of acres of public land on which to hunt, fish, enjoy wildflowers, go birding, or just relax in scenic southwest Wisconsin, Muscoda is a great getaway.

In 1982, Muscoda became known as the "Morel Mushroom Capital" of Wisconsin. The Morel Mushroom Festival is held in honor of this woodland delicacy each year during the weekend after Mother's Day. While there has been no proven way to grow them in a controlled environment, there seems to be no shortage of them in the spring woodlands.
