Juneau was first settled in 1845 and is located 45 miles northwest of Milwaukee and 40 miles northeast of Madison.
Juneau is a rural community with a stable economy supported by several manufacturing operations and county government. The Wild Goose Trail runs through Juneau and is a growing tourist attraction as well as a recreational opportunity for local residents. To the northeast of the City lies the Horicon Marsh and National Wildlife refuge and to the southeast is Lake Sinnissippi.
