Community at a glance

Columbus is located 30 miles northeast of Madison on State Highway 151, at the intersection of State Highways 151 and 16/60. Columbus combines the best of the new and the old with many grand old homes and one of the best preserved downtown's in Wisconsin.

Each June, Columbus's 1910 Park Pavilion and Fireman's Park host the Carriage Classic, a national competition and show of horse-drawn, antique carriages. Every July 4, a volunteer citizens group arranges for a large parade, carnival and fireworks display to celebrate our nation's birthday.

The city is home to several manufacturers who serve the food processing industry - producing stainless steel equipment for cheese making and vegetable preparation. Others print packaging and make coated papers and plastic for major brands. Completing the wide variety of industries are hydraulic tool, electrical distribution cabinet, commercial insulation, and commercial/residential cabinet manufacturers.
