Member Relations
WPPI Energy assists members in enhancing the recognition of the value of member utilities and WPPI Energy in member communities, particularly among elected officials and other community leaders. These programs are established to assist members in maintaining a visible presence in their communities and in communicating the benefits of WPPI Energy membership and public power to their community.
WPPI Energy also offers several events, trainings and programs throughout the year to help members learn more about their joint action agency, while promoting and enhancing recognition of the value of their customer-owned utility.
Programs and services include:
- Awards Program – The annual recognition program is an opportunity to honor member employees and public officials who have made extraordinary contributions to the success of WPPI Energy as well as those who have made their communities better places to live and work through their dedication to local groups, clubs and organizations.
- Conference Scholarships – Scholarship offerings provide an opportunity for member employees and elected or appointed officials to attend various workshops held by the American Public Power Association or other groups.
- Electric Vehicle Incentive Grants – To promote the advanced technology and the environmental benefits of electric vehicles, these grant dollars are an opportunity for member utilities or cities/villages to purchase electric vehicle (hybrid, plug-in electric hybrid, neighborhood electric vehicle) for meter reading or other municipal transportation needs.
