Reliability Update
WPPI Energy is at Emergency Response Level 0

WPPI Energy does not expect any bulk electric system reliability problems to develop in the near future. We will issue updated reports should conditions require.

The reliability of the bulk electric system for all WPPI Energy member communities is managed by the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator (Midwest ISO). The Midwest ISO hosts routine conference calls throughout the summer to discuss the status of the bulk electric system. WPPI Energy will participate in these calls along with representatives from each of the major utilities in our region, as well as power system security coordinators and other utility representatives from the eastern interconnected system.

WPPI Energy will inform member utilities, their customers, the media and others who are concerned about reliability if we become aware of situations that we believe could adversely affect electric service.

WPPI Energy maintains an Emergency Response Plan to coordinate reactions to emergency conditions. Each report WPPI Energy issues will state an Emergency Response Level, similar to the beginning of this report. In the event that conditions require WPPI Energy to raise the Emergency Response Level, WPPI Energy will advise member utilities by email message. If the Emergency Response Level is raised to Level 4 or above, WPPI Energy will contact member utilities directly by telephone. WPPI Energy's email or phone message will advise member utilities of any specific actions requested at that time.

If you have questions about WPPI Energy's reliability update, please contact Todd Biese.
